Born:	1973, in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Education:	VSB-Technical University Ostrava, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, branch Computer Science, for 5 years (1991-1996, Ing.). Master thesis: Using PVM for a parallel implementation of the preconditioned conjugate gradient method, supervisor Prof. Radim Blaheta. VSB-Technical University Ostrava, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, branch Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, for 7 years (1996-2003, Ph.D.). Thesis: Parallel algorithms for solving elasticity problems, supervisor Prof. Radim Blaheta.
Work:	Research worker, CAM, IGAS, (from 1999).
Research:	High-performance computing, Beowulf clusters. Solvers for large linear systems arising from the finite element analysis of elasticity, thermo-elasticity and plasticity problems. The preconditioned conjugate gradient method, sequential and parallel algorithms, various types of preconditioning, space decomposition methods. A development of in-house software package for a mathematical modelling in 3D, primarily in geomechanics.
