ERDF project no. INTERREG V-A SK-CZ/2016/02, 2018 - 2020

The aim of the project is to raise awareness of anaerobic digestion plants, to contribute to streamlining decision-making processes and to assess the impact of biogas plants on local rural development in the Czech-Slovak border zone. Literature search will be carried out in the first phase of the project. Which will be followed by analysis of the biogas plants on both sides of the Czech-Slovak border. The next phase will be the identification of model areas (anaerobic digestion plants) where more detailed investigations will be carried out (questionnaires, interviews). The main output of the project will be the study of the influence of biogas plants on local development and the organization of two workshops for local participants (representatives of local authorities, operators, inhabitants, interest and civic associations).

The project is based on the cooperation of 3 partner institutions:

  • Institute of Geonics of the CAS (Leading partner)
  • Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice (Main cross-border partner)
  • Mendel University in Brno (Project partner)
